Bring Back the Light 2021

Bring Back The Light 2021

A moment of reflection, community, solidarity, and celebration

On Sunday, December 19, 2021, at 5 p.m., light a candle, turn on flashlights, headlamps, or lanterns outside. You can either take your lantern for a walk or from your porch. For a lighted walk in your neighborhood, join family, friends, or neighbors. Are you not aware of any local events? Get together with your neighbors and friends to organize your own event!

We all have so much to be thankful for, and especially each other. Get involved with us:

  • Celebrate the return of the light
  • Show gratitude for family, friends, neighbors, frontline workers, teachers, businesses, and more.
  • Remember all the people who have suffered hardships or losses.
  • Alaskans can look forward to a bright future together.

There is no one way to do this. Just shine a light outside. Use the hashtag #WithYouAlaska to share photos and videos on social media.
